Tencent Announces Hy4 with Computer Use

Tencent has introduced its open-source Hy4 model with desktop control, while Sarvam AI releases a fast decision model.

Tencent Unveils Hy4 with Computer-Use Capabilities

On November 4, 2026, Tencent announced Tencent Hy4, its latest large language model. The new release adds visual understanding and computer-use features for the first time. According to Tencent, Hy4 can operate command-line tools as well as graphical user interfaces, including specialized applications like CAD and Blender. Tencent plans to release the model weights and system cards in the coming days. The company emphasized safeguards in cybersecurity and biosafety, intentionally excluding offensive exploit material from training. Cloud pricing remains at roughly $0.90 per million input tokens.

What it means: Open-weight models are rapidly gaining native abilities to control desktop software like a human operator. In our view, this lowers the barrier for engineering teams to automate tedious design workflows without closed cloud vendor lock-in.

Example: A mechanical designer asks Hy4 to review a rough drawing and adjust basic dimensions directly inside CAD software.

Sarvam AI Open-Sources Prism Decision Model

On November 3, 2026, Sarvam AI released Sarvam Prism under the Apache 2.0 license. Instead of generating tokens step by step, the model scores candidate options in a single forward pass, delivering decisions in 44 milliseconds on one accelerator.

What it means: Agents and routers often need immediate categorical choices rather than lengthy essays. One-pass scoring models significantly reduce latency and compute costs.

Example: An automated triage bot categorizes an urgent incident ticket into the correct team queue within milliseconds.
